Point has numerous retail stores around town. The Cholla Mall is
located on the Cholla Bay road. Located about two and a half miles
out of Cholla Bay coming from Rocky Point. It consist of about three
city blocks of small shops offering painted artwork, hand crafts,
pottery, jewelry, and fireworks. The Malecon or Old Port has much
of the same items as well as fresh seafood for sale. This is your
best option for purchasing fresh seafood in Puerto Penasco.
When dining out in Rocky Point there
are many options. Puerto Penasco has an array of dining options.
For American food both the Sonoran Grill located at the Sonoran
Spa, and the Black Dog Restaurant located on Bld. Freemont are excellent
options. Mexican food lovers will enjoy the Hacienda Las Fuentes
located on Blvd. Freemont just west of the Las Conchas Beach Home
Community. La Maria located in the Las Palomas Condominium complex
offers exceptional international cuisine. If you are staying in
the Sandy Beach Resort area we would like to recommend The Agave
Grill located at the Princessa condominiums, Catorce located at
the Sonoran Sun Condominiums, The Reef Restaurant, and the Bus Stop
located on the Las Palomas golf course road. All of which are clean,
convenient, and affordable.
The main currency in Rocky Point
is the Peso, but the city operates on a dual currency of pesos and
U.S. Dollars. The average on the street conversion is 10 pesos to
1 U.S. dollar. It is best to use a local ATM for the current exchange
rate. Money exchange firms charge a premium for their services and
are not easy to locate on the city streets.
